Disorientation and Fluidity

Are sameness and repetition the overall consensus in our world today? Seemingly identical chain stores, shopping malls, fast-food restaurants, pop icons, and tourist activities influence construction of a World Culture Museum that can offer an interesting challenge. Traditionally the goal of museology is to locate rareness and even exoticism. Where is the opportunity in the future to learn and experience difference as a possible focus by facing a world view that is moving towards an ostensibly endless homogenous continuity?

Culture and Nature in Projection

The space in our fluxive, communication-oriented society is no longer determined solely by the culture of a particular place, but moved by the flow of highly compressed and transient experiences. This building position yields to local topography conceived by high technology while determined to follow all codes of nature. The shine of green reflected off of the highly compressed glazing with a super-graphic layer of information is neither nature nor technology. Perhaps this is the beginning of a new binary relationship that serves the purpose of extending a new world culture and ecology.
