2003 // Stop/Go Chicago /
--
This project focuses on the effect of SPEED in the context of Chicago. Studies of the automobile and the landscape are two key components for the making of this world. The movements of transport system and surrounding environment formulate the overall sensation and situatedness in this bustling city. It is the interest of this project to combine mobility and nature-scape into one single entity, as both are desirable and crucial to the public. The program organization invokes a spatial negotiation between civic and private sectors, spanning across different territories and connecting multiple parties at stake. The design is particularly sensitive to the community interest for an open space and the city's wish to be a parking structure.
